I joined the Council in 201x and after a short period as Vice Chair, I became Chair of the Council in 2022. This coincided with a change in the Clerk and we have formed a strong partnership in evolving and improving the Council policies, enabling us to keep pace with the changes in law, planning and environmental issues.
My background is in law and I am qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. I practised in a firm of family solicitors in Worcestershire, specialising in probate and family law, which gave me the opportunity to understand and assist clients often going through difficult times.
I’ve lived in the Wedmore Parish for 20 years; my husband and I have raised our young family in the hamlet of Bagley. Our daughters are at Kings of Wessex school in Cheddar, having been through the local school system at Wedmore First School and Hugh Sexeys in Blackford. I helped to run a toddler group they attended in Blackford and I’ve been a long time Committee member of the Community Orchard at Bagley.
In my spare time, I’ve captained the second team at Cheddar Hockey Club for the last four years and I enjoy walking and gardening.
